Why We Love Dorset

There are so many reasons why we love living and working in Dorset. We have the award-winning beaches, the fresh sea air, the glorious neighbouring New Forest, the fantastic schools, parks and walks, not to mention the Purbecks, Old Harry Rocks, Hengistbury Head, the list goes on and yes, we realise just how lucky we are!

As an Estate Agents in Canford Cliffs it’s fair to say we know the area better than most. We’ve probably travelled down every road there is, which has enabled us to understand the different localities in Dorset firsthand. Promoting Dorset is part of our job. We help thousands of people move within the county, or relocate here every year. It’s such a wonderful feeling to see people’s excitement when they find their dream home through us. It’s what we get out of bed in the morning for.

Some of our favourite things to do include a walk (or drive) over to Studland via the chain ferry in Sandbanks. It’s a great experience if you haven’t done it before. There are beautiful beaches awaiting you, in particular Shell Bay, which is famous locally. The water here in summer is particularly idyllic and if you can stay around to watch sunset, it’s a must.

If you are visiting this part of Dorset, Swanage and Corfe Castle are other great hot-spots. For the historian in you, Corfe Castle is an incredible site. There is the Swanage Steam Railway if you want to play tourist for the day and plenty of gastro pubs, coffee shops and ice cream shops along the way.

Back across the water and out towards Cranborne sits one of our very favourite places,10 Castle Street. This is a private-members club hotel, bar and restaurant, currently open to non-members too, but it won’t be for long so do be quick at signing up! The stunning 18th Century building is extremely grand and boasts an extravagant history. 10 Castle Street is a fantastic example of a traditional country mansion steeped in history, character and charm.

You can’t beat an over-night stay here if you’re looking for some RnR, or simply pop in for a drink, lunch or dinner. The interior design is beautiful and so individual. Sipping on a glass of Champagne in their stunning gardens on a sunny day is a real treat.

If the ocean is your second home then The Boat Club in Parkstone Marina, close to Sandbanks, is a need to know. They are offering a new way to experience boating. The concept? For a fixed annual fee, you have unlimited access to a selection of boats, all prepared for you to just step aboard and enjoy your adventure. Their fleet is impressive and the flexibly of their service is desirable; be sure to pop in and have a chat with them if you dream of getting out on the water.

With Easter just around the corner, perhaps a trip to Dorset might just be on the cards?
