Itchen Abbas & Alresford
Itchen Abbas is a picturesque village on the River Itchen about 4 miles north-east of Winchester. The village is well located for ease of access to both the historic City of Winchester and the Georgian market town of Alresford A vision of pastel perfection, Alresford is a handsome Georgian town of colour-washed houses, riverside walks, specialist shops and the UK’s capital of watercress farming. The town’s history is punctuated with fires, despite the abundance of water in the area. The buildings that you see today rose from the ashes of the great fires of the 17th century.
Both villages are high desirable residential areas for those looking to enjoy rural living, but with a short commute to the city centre.
